This December, I’m hosting a trip to El Ultimo Puesto, a dry fly angler’s paradise on the edge of Torres del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia. If spring creek and small freestoner fishing for oversized brown trout is your idea of a good time, then this one might be for you. ![]()
This one’s special (or so I’m told by folks I trust). 35 (ish) miles of walk-and-wade water, all the domain of 4 anglers a week. We’ll be staying in a historic gaucho’s cabin that has been converted into a small fishing lodge. Big views of the Torres del Paine massif and Sierra Baguales dominate the landscape, and an abundance of spit-roasted lamb and Chilean red wine will be served.
Grey fox, guanaco, rhea, armadillos, and maybe a puma or two will be our only neighbors, and the stargazing will rival (or more likely blow away) anything you’ve ever experienced. If you didn’t already guess, there’s only room for four, so if you want to join the group, drop me a line ASAP.
The cost is $7,900 for everything except tips and your flight to and from Puerto Natales, Chile (PNT). Arrive December 10 and depart December 17. Send me an email if you’d like to sign up or get more information:
